Full-time. 10pm-6am, Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday.

BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION

: Act under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel to carry out all duties of personal care and assistance (including housekeeping, serving of food, laundry, and activities) to residents of our community. Responsible for handling residents in a manner conducive to their safety, dignity, and emotional and physical wellbeing. Responsible for executing all duties within the guidelines of local and State law, community policies and procedures and resident rights.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care within the guidelines of state law and Canyon Winds policies and procedures
• Collect, launder, and distribute residents' personal laundry including bed linens. Follow all policies governing infection control and hazardous waste.
• Assist all residents in participating in planned activity program seven days per week
• Prepare, assist with, and document the administration of medication to residents under supervision of licensed nurse and in strict compliance with state regulations and physician's orders
• Prepare residents for meals and snacks and assist residents in dining room.
• Keep proper records of care given
• Follow all safety and infection control policies and procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, offices, and corridors as outlined in Canyon Winds housekeeping procedures. Ensure all areas are safe
• Attend all required in-service training
• Comply with and understand all resident rights
• Communicate all pertinent information to LPN, Wellness Director
• Communicate with oncoming shift to ensure follow through of duties
• Report unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Arizona Certified Caregiver Certificate (Preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Have or able to obtain a level one fingerprint clearance card
• Have or able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
• Must be able to pass background check
• Current TB Test
• Food Handlers Card (Preferred)
