As a Medication Technician (Med Tech) , you will play a critical role in ensuring residents receive safe and timely medication administration while supporting their overall health, hydration, and daily wellness. Working alongside the Wellness Director and caregiving team, you will help create a safe, comfortable, and engaging home where every resident can thrive. Serenity Empire at Stone Mountain offers Assisted Living and Memory Care with personalized care plans, medication management, and 24/7 support. Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents according to physician orders, state regulations, and community policies. Accurately document all medication administration, treatments, and resident observations in the electronic or paper Medication Administration Record (MAR). Monitor residents for changes in health, behavior, or medication effectiveness, and promptly report concerns to the Wellness Director or licensed nursing staff. Assist with medication ordering, inventory, storage, and disposal while ensuring medications remain secure and compliant with regulatory standards. Encourage and monitor resident hydration throughout the day to promote overall wellness and help prevent dehydration. Observe residents during medication passes and throughout the shift, identifying any changes in physical, cognitive, or emotional well-being. Work collaboratively with the Wellness Director to implement individualized care plans and provide exceptional resident-centered care. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including mobility, dining assistance, and personal care support. Maintain infection prevention and control practices while ensuring a clean, organized, and safe medication room. Respond promptly and professionally to resident emergencies, following established community protocols. Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, pharmacies, and fellow team members to ensure continuity of care. Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life through compassionate and respectful interactions. Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect resident confidentiality at all times. Participate in required in-service training, continuing education, and team meetings. Qualifications Current Georgia Medication Aide/Medication Technician certification (or eligibility as required by state regulations). CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Previous experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Personal Care, or Long-Term Care is preferred. Knowledge of safe medication administration practices and medication documentation. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to recognize changes in resident condition and communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and healthcare providers. Compassionate, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality senior care. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the workday.
