Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our assisted living community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, medication administration, and medical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on residents' well-being by ensuring safe and accurate medication management while providing personal care assistance in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately in accordance with state healthcare regulations and facility policies. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards. Assist residents with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, mobility support, and memory care activities related to dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and ensure resident safety. Follow infection control protocols, including manual handling techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations. Strong caregiving skills with excellent communication abilities tailored to working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities. Understanding of state healthcare regulations concerning medication administration and resident safety.
