Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Medication Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals, and will be skilled in medication administration and patient care. This role is crucial in ensuring that our residents receive the appropriate medications and support tailored to their individual needs. Responsibilities Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring compliance with all regulations and protocols. Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with daily living activities and provide compassionate care to residents with varying levels of needs, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Conduct routine checks of vital signs and assist with tube feeding, catheter care, and other medical procedures as needed. Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and record-keeping purposes. Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents while promoting their dignity and independence. Experience Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with caregiving practices for seniors, hospice care, memory care, and working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs is essential. Proficiency in using medical documentation systems (EMR/EHR) is required. Experience in medication administration and understanding of relevant regulations regarding patient care is crucial.
