What You'll Do As a Medication Technician, you'll play an important role in supporting the health, safety, and independence of our residents.

You'll:

Safely and accurately administer prescription and nonprescription medications according to physician orders and the six rights of medication administration . Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, compliance, and medication refusals. Complete accurate medication documentation and maintain organized medication records. Provide basic wound care and first-aid treatments as needed. Maintain proper medication inventory, storage, labeling, and disposal in accordance with facility and state requirements. Observe and promptly report changes in residents' health, behavior, or overall condition. Follow infection-control procedures and standard precautions. Protect resident privacy by consistently following HIPAA and resident-rights requirements . Respond appropriately to emergencies and immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, or unusual events. Communicate clearly with residents, families, supervisors, and fellow team members. Encourage residents to remain as independent as possible while providing patience, empathy, dignity, and emotional support. Work collaboratively with the care team to solve problems and provide exceptional resident care. Maintain professionalism in attendance, communication, confidentiality, appearance, and daily responsibilities. Follow all policies and procedures of The Gardens of Mount Pleasant. What You'll Need Required:

Completion of a State of Wisconsin-approved Medication Technician Program . Completion of the medication administration CBRF course and listed on the registry at UW Green Bay. Experience completing a medication pass for a census of at least 20 residents. Understanding of medication administration principles, including dosage, side effects, medication actions, and safety precautions. Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Ability to work effectively as part of a care team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. CBRF certifications in applicable areas, including medication administration, standard precautions, fire safety, and first aid/choking.

Preferred:

You must be able to: Push a 50-pound medication cart across a carpeted surface . Maintain good general health and emotional stability. Assist with the evacuation of residents during an emergency. Practice proper body mechanics and safe resident-handling techniques.

Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
