This full-time position offers shifts from early morning to evening (7:00 am - 7:30 pm) and overnight (7:00 pm - 7:30 am), providing vital support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Duties Monitor psychiatric patients continuously through observation and assessment to detect changes in behavior or mental status. Assist with patient care activities, including hygiene, nutrition, medication administration, and mobility support. Implement behavior management strategies and behavioral interventions to de-escalate crises and promote positive behaviors. Utilize crisis intervention techniques and physical restraint methods when necessary to ensure safety for patients and staff. Maintain accurate medical records, document patient progress, and update treatment plans in compliance with healthcare regulations. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and provide emotional support. Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid and CPR skills while following established protocols for psychiatric or medical crises. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Proficiency in obtaining and recording vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) in accordance with clinical protocols Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a behavioral health, healthcare, or hospital setting (role-specific equivalent acceptable) Proven experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, disabilities, or substance use disorders in acute care or psychiatric hospital settings. Knowledge of psychiatric care practices, patient observation techniques, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and medical records documentation. Demonstrated ability to perform crisis prevention, de-escalation techniques, and physical restraint techniques safely and effectively. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; additional certifications in crisis intervention or behavioral health are preferred.
