Job Description

Position Overview:
Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians in a school-based setting. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to start a career in education, psychology, or behavioral health. In this role, you will support students with behavioral challenges and special need. No prior certification is required-training and ongoing support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and behavioral challenges + Assist in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the guidance of teachers and specialists + Use positive behavior strategies such as reinforcement, redirection, and encouragement + Help students develop social skills, emotional regulation, and coping strategies + Support students in staying engaged and participating in classroom activities + Assist with transitions throughout the school day (classroom changes, lunch, recess, etc.) + Track and document basic behavior observations and student progress + Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and behavioral support teams + Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent required + Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age
