Job Description
Overview The Behavior Intervention position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and adults with disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. In this role, you will implement behavior intervention strategies and support clients in achieving their personal goals. You will work closely with families and other professionals to create a nurturing environment that promotes growth and development. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on diagnostic evaluations. Provide direct support to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being during interventions. Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to encourage positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, educators, and family members, to coordinate care. Conduct regular assessments to monitor progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed. Educate clients and families about behavioral strategies and techniques to reinforce learning at home. Qualifications Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, particularly those with autism. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation, and record-keeping practices. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes related to behavioral health. Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
