Seeking experienced paraprofessionals ready for immediate deployment in a dynamic educational environment supporting students with moderate to high-intensity needs. Current pool positions are available on a contract basis, with assignments across the Quakertown, Levittown, and Perkasie areas. Ongoing turnover in these roles creates frequent new openings, so flexibility and readiness to begin as soon as you're cleared are essential. The first week includes a mandatory orientation, held at the main IU office, to set the stage for your assignment.
Key Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom (PreK-12), working directly with children who have severe autism and behavioral challenges. Comfortable implementing safety interventions in structured behavioral settings, including 1:1 assignments. Proven experience supporting students who may demonstrate aggressive or self-injurious behaviors and intensive safety needs. Ability to assist with ADLs (toileting, diapering, feeding, transfers) and remain active throughout the school day. Must meet or be willing to obtain Pennsylvania state paraprofessional requirements (associate degree, 48 college credits, or relevant certificate). Clearances must be fully approved before orientation; must reside within 35 minutes of the work locations. Reliable transportation required.
Responsibilities:
Provide both group and individualized support to students in K-12 settings. Implement behavior plans and safety protocols as directed by educational staff. Assist with daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment. Respond to student needs with compassion, consistency, and professionalism.
