Position Summary As an Emotional Support Aide, you will work alongside teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to provide individualized support for students with emotional and behavioral needs. Your role is to help students remain engaged in learning, build positive relationships, develop self-regulation skills, and achieve success throughout the school day. This position is ideal for individuals who are calm, compassionate, flexible, and committed to helping students reach their full potential. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students throughout the school day. Assist with implementing individualized educational and behavioral support plans. Encourage positive behavior, emotional regulation, and appropriate social interactions. Support students in classroom instruction, transitions, and daily routines. Build positive, supportive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, counselors, and administrators. Maintain accurate documentation when required. Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with children or adolescents in education, childcare, behavioral health, mental health, special education, psychology, social work, or human services is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, dependable, and able to remain calm in a variety of situations. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team. Must be able to obtain all required background clearances and meet school district employment requirements.
