Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA) with a strong background in mental health and Dual Diagnosis treatment to join our team. The provider will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychiatric care to individuals with mental health disorders and substance use disorders in an outpatient, hybrid (in-person & telehealth), or fully telehealth setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring for efficacy, safety, and potential interactions with substance use treatment Provide supportive psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and motivational interviewing techniques for individuals with co-occurring disorders Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, and primary care providers Implement evidence-based approaches for treating mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements Participate in case conferences and continuing education to stay updated on best practices in psychiatry and addiction treatment Support crisis intervention and relapse prevention strategies
Qualifications:
For Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner :
Education:
Graduation from a master's or doctoral program in nursing with a concentration in psychiatric-mental health, accredited by a recognized nursing education accrediting body.
Licensure:
Active and unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of Florida.
Experience:
Prior experience in psychiatric/mental health settings, particularly with dual diagnosis populations, is preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy modalities, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Language:
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply For Physician Assistant (PA):
Education:
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
Degree Requirement:
For applicants who matriculated after December 31, 2020, a master's degree is required. Those who matriculated on or before this date must have a bachelor's or master's degree from an approved program.
Licensure:
Active and unencumbered Physician Assistant license in the state of Florida.
Experience:
Prior experience in psychiatric/mental health settings, especially with dual diagnosis populations, is preferred.
Skills:
Competence in psychiatric assessments, medication management, and familiarity with EHR systems.
Language:
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Certification:
Current national certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from a recognized certifying body.
Licensure:
Active and unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of Florida.
Experience:
Prior experience in psychiatric/mental health settings, particularly with dual diagnosis populations, is preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy modalities, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
