Role:
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) in a per-diem capacity at Larkin Community Hospital plays a critical role in supporting the mental health care team by providing direct patient care and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. This position involves working closely with patients experiencing a range of psychiatric conditions, assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient behavior, and reporting changes to clinical staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by the hospital. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Crisis and Intervention Training required Must pass in-house MHT test
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health facility. Additional certifications related to mental health care or crisis intervention. Bilingual language skills relevant to the patient population served.
