Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Part-Time Day Treatment Specialist for the Saturday Academy works directly with children and adolescents during weekend programming. This role holds primary responsibility for maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, and ensuring the health and safety of all clients in care. The Specialist implements therapeutic activities, supervises clients in meeting their treatment goals, and handles comprehensive documentation of interventions and observations. Additionally, the Specialist supports the Saturday Academy by ensuring activities are organized, engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with program goals. Key Responsibilities Client Care & Program Support Take primary responsibility for maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, ensuring the health and safety of all clients in care. Lead, develop, and implement therapeutic activities designed to meet client needs, and actively support clients in developing essential skills to achieve their treatment goals. Continuously observe the behavioral and emotional climate of the group and individual clients, leading appropriate de-escalation techniques during client crises to maintain a stable environment. Ensure clients are safely escorted to and from the restroom and other areas to maintain continuous supervision. Promote a safe, structured, and positive environment for all participants. Oversee and assist in the preparation and serving of meals for clients. Documentation & Communication Draft and record detailed notes based on observations during interventions and treatment sessions, ensuring accuracy of client behavior and progress. Take the lead on behavioral notes during interventions, completing client incident reports, and maintaining the contact log. Maintain strict client confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries, refraining from dual relationships with clients. Maintain professional communication with parents, guardians, and staff. Safety, Transportation & Logistics Transport clients to and from the facility using company-provided vehicles. Oversee the safe loading and unloading of clients and recording check-ins during transport. Adhere to all safety protocols while driving and maintain a good driving record; promptly communicate and document any barriers to timely client pickup to the appropriate staff. Help coordinate participant group assignments to maintain appropriate supervision ratios.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Must be in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
Experience:
Experience in providing appropriate care and guidance to clients, helping them develop skills and achieve treatment goals. Experience working with children, youth programs, behavioral health, education, recreation, or community organizations preferred.
Certifications & Training:
Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification. Must complete CARF and competency training within the first six months of employment, and annually thereafter.
Licensing:
Valid driver's license required for client transportation purposes.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor program activities.
