Job Description

East End Disability Associates Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides services and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). EEDA is hiring full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Jamesport IRA, a warm and welcoming home where five women have built lasting friendships over many years. This close-knit home is known for it's strong sense of community, teamwork, and the active involvement of supportive family members who partner closely with the support staff. Every day offers meaningful opportunities to help the women live fulfilling, independent lives. Together they enjoy prepping healthy meals, going for bike rides, and participating in community activities throughout Long Island's beautiful North Fork. This position is perfect for someone who loves the outdoors!
Shift :
Evenings (3pm-11pm) and Overnights (11pm-9am). Weekends included and flexibility required based on program needs.

$20/hr
Location :
Jamesport, NY Commitment bonus: 1,000 sign-on bonus. This bonus is paid out $500 at 6-months and $500 at 12-months. Employee must be up to date with all trainings and in good standing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision of the people supported. Assist in planning activities. Assist the people supported when needed. Including areas of self-care, independent living, and community integration. Transportation/driving agency vehicles. Attend all mandatory trainings sessions including new hire orientation, Defensive Driving, First Aid, CPR, program specific trainings, and annual trainings. Obtain SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) and AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel). Complete all necessary documentation, which includes daily records; Medication Records (if AMAP); Incident Reports, Seizure Reports and Behavioral Records when needed; and any necessary correspondence. Correspond as needed with other program staff, family members, consultant staff (e.g., BISs, RNs, Nutritionists, etc.). Any additional responsibilities for the successful operation of the program. An
