Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide direct patient care and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, and addiction issues. Your energetic approach will help foster a safe, supportive environment where clients can work towards their recovery and personal growth. You will assist with behavioral management, crisis intervention, and medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations while promoting positive outcomes for each individual. Responsibilities Monitor and support patients' daily activities, ensuring safety and engagement in therapeutic programs Implement behavior management strategies using applied behavior analysis techniques to promote positive behavior change Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to maintain a safe environment for clients and staff Conduct intake assessments and collect data on patient behaviors for ongoing treatment planning Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate medical records Measure vital signs and observe physical health indicators to monitor overall well-being Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical staff, and educators to coordinate care plans Document all patient interactions, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with medical documentation standards Support clients with special needs by applying tailored educational strategies and behavioral interventions Engage in ongoing training related to crisis management, addiction counseling, working with individuals with disabilities, and applied behavior analysis Experience Prior experience working directly with children or adults in behavioral health or special education settings is highly desirable Knowledge of crisis management techniques and crisis intervention protocols Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and medication administration procedures Experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities is preferred Background in social work or mental health support roles demonstrating strong patient care skills Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality Proven ability to collect data accurately for behavioral analysis and treatment progress tracking Join us in making a meaningful difference by providing compassionate care that empowers individuals on their journey toward improved mental health and well-being.
