Overview Join our dedicated team as a Fulltime M-F 3p-11p Youth Care Worker, where your energy and compassion will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children facing diverse challenges. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support, supervision, and care to residents during weekend shifts, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment. Your proactive approach and strong communication skills will foster trust and stability for those we serve, including youth, individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and underserved communities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in behavioral health, crisis intervention, and case management while working with a dynamic team committed to positive change. Duties Supervise residents during after school arrival, ensuring safety and adherence to program guidelines Support residents with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational engagement Implement behavior management techniques to de-escalate conflicts and promote positive interactions Administer medications following strict protocols and maintain accurate medication administration records Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, utilizing de-escalation techniques to manage high-risk situations effectively Maintain resident confidentiality while documenting incidents, progress notes, and data collection accurately using Microsoft Office tools Support residents in developing life skills and connecting them with community resources for ongoing stability Working by yourself and/or on a team Qualifications Prior supervising or leadership experience in childcare, social work, behavioral health or related fields preferred Strong understanding of conflict management, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, mental health conditions or from underserved communities highly desirable Knowledge of medication administration protocols and manual handling procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data entry, filing, and report writing Valid CPR and First Aid certifications; additional certifications in addiction counseling or security are a plus Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations and families Ability to handle high-risk situations calmly while maintaining resident confidentiality and safety standards Experience working with youth or in home & community care settings is advantageous
MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
