We are currently hiring Full-Time Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) for Day Shift and Night Shift positions. Whether you're experienced in behavioral health or looking to grow your healthcare career, we'd love to meet you. Position Summary As a Mental Health Technician (MHT) , you'll work directly with patients in our inpatient behavioral health hospital by providing support, supervision, encouragement, and compassionate care in a safe, structured therapeutic environment. You'll collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the treatment team to help patients achieve recovery while ensuring a safe and positive treatment experience. What You'll Do Provide direct patient care and supervision throughout the shift Monitor patient behaviors and obtain vital signs Complete routine safety rounds and accurate documentation Assist with admissions, patient orientation, and discharge activities Support patients with daily living activities while promoting independence and healthy coping skills Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques during behavioral crises Escort patients to groups, appointments, and treatment activities Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment Communicate patient concerns and behavioral changes promptly to nursing staff Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide outstanding patient care Qualifications Applicants must meet one of the following: High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year of direct behavioral health or psychiatric patient care experience One (1) year of Military Corpsman experience Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or another behavioral health-related field with mental health experience Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with previous behavioral health or psychiatric patient care experience Additional Requirements Current BLS/CPR certification preferred Ability to obtain Handle With Care certification during orientation Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including rotating weekends Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations Schedule Full-Time Day Shift Available Night Shift Available Rotating Weekends Required Benefits Perimeter Healthcare offers a comprehensive benefits package including: Competitive Pay Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Life Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Supplemental Insurance Options Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Supportive Team Environment Career Growth & Advancement Opportunities Why Choose Perimeter Healthcare?
