A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Title:
IEP-Based Special Education Music Therapist for Grades PreK-12 Visit us here for more info https://www.coastmusictherapy.com/san-diego-iep-music-therapy-job-2026/ Do you have a passion for special education? Hone your IEP skills in Coast Music Therapy's full time 11-month school-year position in San Diego, CA. If you're a parent who enjoys having school holidays and summers off, or someone who likes to travel, you'll have over 7 paid weeks off during the school year and after our 4 week summer school, July is free for you to roam! We offer a $1200 sign on bonus, $1200 annual end of school year bonus, $1000 for continuing education, a monthly cell phone stipend, paid mileage, and a special bonus for those who are NMT trained (or funding for the NMT training if you haven't yet attended). All of your travel between schools, session planning, documentation, staff meetings, and supervision from our lead therapists is paid at your your full salaried rate. Our benefits package is over $10,000 per year in perks. You must be a Board Certified Music Therapist (or will be preparing to take the exam) in order to apply.
