A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Job Description Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner working with military families at Joint Base Andrews in Washington, D.C.
Requirements:
Master's degree in nursing Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Certified as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Possesses a minimum of one year experience in mental health or psychiatric care for adults, individuals, families, couples, or group therapy. Current, full, active, and unrestricted license (Any State)
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday No nights, weekends, or holidays 8 hours a day
