Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional patient care during overnight shifts from 11pm to 7am. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, maintaining detailed medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Support patients with medication administration under supervision, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral management. Collaborate with nursing staff to recognize changes in patient conditions and communicate effectively regarding patient needs or concerns. Maintain a safe environment by practicing safe lifting practices, manual handling procedures, and infection control measures consistent with Level I and Level II trauma center standards. Assist in patient transfers and mobility exercises, ensuring comfort and safety for patients with complex needs such as those requiring ICU or post-acute care. Support hospice or palliative care patients by providing compassionate bedside assistance aligned with their care plans. Utilize EMR/EHR systems proficiently for documentation of patient care activities and medical records management. Qualifications Valid CNA certification with current licensure; prior experience in long-term care facilities or hospital settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS) certification. Experience working in emergency medicine, ICU, or trauma centers is a plus; familiarity with Level I/II trauma center standards preferred. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to foster effective caregiver-patient interactions. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
