A Nursing Assistant provides hospital and nursing home patients with basic care and assists them with daily activities. Helps patients with dressing, washing, and feeding. May perform basic medical care under the direction of a nurse or other medical professional. These roles typically require completion of a regional agency-approved training program in order to obtain a certification before practicing.
!! La Paloma Healthcare Center is hiring CNAs for PM and NOC shifts! We are a skilled nursing and rehab facility located in Oceanside. We offer an extensive training and orientation to our staff.

NOC:
10:30PM to 7AM (4:2 Schedules)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist patients in daily living activities and provide comfort (i.e. feeding, bathing, toileting etc.). Assist physicians and nurses in medical procedures. Record patient health information (blood pressure, temperature etc.) and vital signs. Transfer patients to and from rooms, beds, wheelchairs or gurneys. Maintain the cleanliness of patient care environment (e.g. beds, bathrooms etc.). Prepare equipment and instruments for inspection and sterilization. Provide first aid services including wound care.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Must be actively state certified as a CNA. Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc. Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training Prior CNA experience is a plus
Physical Capacities :
(With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices) Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Continuous bending, squatting, twisting and reaching. Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which includes an annual TB screening and physical examination. Must be able to stand for and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Requires infrequent lifting of weight up to 100+ pounds with assistance. Frequent pushing and pulling of carts and transporting residents. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Environmental conditions:
Inside work, normal temperatures, some noise, occasional fumes/odors, chemical exposure and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
