A Nursing Assistant provides hospital and nursing home patients with basic care and assists them with daily activities. Helps patients with dressing, washing, and feeding. May perform basic medical care under the direction of a nurse or other medical professional. These roles typically require completion of a regional agency-approved training program in order to obtain a certification before practicing.
Provides professional and technical skills to provide safety, comfort, personal hygiene and the protection of patients in the patient care areas. 1. Demonstrates professional nursing behavior with all individuals. 2. Possesses organizational skills and knowledge required to perform necessary nursing functions. 3. Collaborates with other team members, contributing to the smooth operations of the unit on a day to day basis. 4. Provides excellent customer service. 5. Documents and provides competent, compassionate care to the patients on the unit. 6. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other staff and escalates situations that arise as needed. 7. Exhibits sound judgement and technical skill in the performance of direct patient care. 8. All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma and CA Certified Nurse Assistant Course
CA C.N.A.
License and
AHA BLS/CPR
Non-violent crisis intervention/verbal de-escalation course within 3 months of hire. 1 year nurse assistance experience preferred
