Role:
The RNA - Restorative Nursing Aide plays a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation and overall well-being of residents in healthcare facility. This position focuses on assisting residents in regaining and maintaining their physical abilities through personalized restorative care plans. The RNA collaborates closely with nursing staff, therapists, and families to implement therapeutic exercises and activities that promote independence and improve quality of life. By monitoring progress and reporting changes, the RNA ensures that care plans are effective and adjusted as needed. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to enhancing residents' functional abilities and fostering a supportive, compassionate care environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent state certification. Completion of a restorative nursing aide training program or relevant experience in restorative care. Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common rehabilitation techniques. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a Restorative Nursing Aide or in a similar rehabilitative role. Additional certifications related to restorative care or physical therapy assistance. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation software. Strong understanding of geriatric care and common age-related conditions. CPR and First Aid certification.
Responsibilities:
Assist residents with restorative exercises and activities designed to improve mobility, strength, and daily living skills. Collaborate with nursing staff and therapists to develop and implement individualized restorative care plans. Monitor and document residents' progress, reporting any changes in condition or abilities to the healthcare team. Provide support with activities of daily living (ADLs) while encouraging resident independence and self-care. Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and facility policies.

The RNA uses strong interpersonal and communication skills daily to engage residents and collaborate with the healthcare team effectively. Attention to detail and observational skills are essential for accurately monitoring resident progress and documenting changes.
