Full-Time 40 hours (5 days a week) Purpose of the position The Operating Room Medical Assistant is an integral part of the patient care team. They will be responsible for assisting with the cleaning & sterilization of the operating rooms, and room turnover procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Functions:
Assist with O.R. room turnover. Cleaning and disinfecting rooms and equipment. Assists in equipment setup. Assists with patient positioning. Transport/collects supplies needed for surgery. Maintains cleaning supplies within surgical areas. Prepares supplies and stocks shelves in operating rooms. Sets up positioning equipment for surgical procedures based on the surgeon's preference cards.
Qualifications:
High school graduate. Medical Assistant certification OR Nurse's Aide Certification Minimum one (1) year Medical Assistant or C.N.A. experience preferred. Must be dependable and punctual. Must be organized and have ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must be able to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Comprehension of medical terminology. Excellent communication skills. Competency in oral and written skills. Team Player.
