Job Description

Suncoast Hospice , a member of Empath Health , is seeking a caring and motivated Float CNA to provide patient care at our Care Center in Pinellas County and Hillsborough county on the following schedule: dayshift 7:45 am to 8:15pm 3 shifts a week. The CNA delivers quality, patient-centered care under the direction of a licensed nurse, while monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition. This role requires flexibility to work at various locations and be reassigned based on business needs. Since 1977, Suncoast Hospice has been honored to serve our neighbors across Pinellas and Hillsborough counties with compassionate end-of-life care. As part of Empath Health, we help those living with advanced illness find comfort, dignity, and meaning, while supporting their families and caregivers with guidance and care every step of the way. What you'll Do Provides basic personal care such as bed, shower or tub bath, oral hygiene, toileting, skin care, ambulation, and exercise as directed by the RN and assigned by the patient's plan of care (POC). Provides education in personal care, patient positioning, and ADL's specific to patient's POC. Measures and records oral, rectal, and axillaries temperatures, pulse, and respiration, and blood pressure when ordered within scope and training of the CNA. Communicates and regularly updates the RN regarding observations, progress/deterioration and comfort needs of the patient. Actively participates in the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings. Valid Florida State Driver's License Six months recent experience in Hospice, Home Health or acute care setting environment preferred. Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
