Pain Management We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Pain Management Clinic in Kaneohe. The ideal candidate is a confident, compassionate, and clinically experienced advanced practice provider who is comfortable evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. Pain management experience is strongly preferred , although experienced providers from related clinical specialties are encouraged to apply. Position Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing and imaging Manage medications and monitor patient response to treatment Provide appropriate medication education and counseling Review and appropriately utilize Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP/PMP) data as part of medication management and controlled-substance monitoring Order, review, and interpret urine drug screening (UDS) results in accordance with clinic protocols and applicable requirements Monitor patient adherence to treatment plans, medication agreements, and controlled-substance policies Identify and appropriately address unexpected UDS results, concerning prescription patterns, medication discrepancies, and other potential medication-safety concerns Assess and document opioid therapy, including Morphine Milligram Equivalent (MME) considerations when clinically appropriate Maintain accurate documentation related to controlled-substance prescribing, monitoring, and follow-up Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team Educate patients regarding treatment options, expectations, medication safety, and ongoing pain management Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation Follow established clinical protocols and applicable state and federal requirements Participate in the ongoing management and follow-up of established pain management patients Qualifications Current Hawaii license as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Current DEA registration or ability to obtain, if required for the position Current BLS certification Prior clinical experience as a PA or NP required Pain management experience strongly preferred Experience with controlled-substance management, PDMP/PMP review, urine drug screening, and medication monitoring strongly preferred Experience managing patients with chronic and complex medical conditions preferred Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills Excellent documentation, communication, and patient-care skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the physician and clinical team Comfortable working in a busy outpatient clinical environment What We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced advanced practice provider who is clinically confident, dependable, professional, and committed to safe, responsible, patient-centered pain management . The successful candidate should be comfortable managing a diverse patient population, including patients requiring ongoing medication management and monitoring, while utilizing evidence-based practices and appropriate risk-mitigation strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PA or NP interested in joining an established outpatient pain management practice and providing comprehensive care to patients in the Windward Oahu community.
