Being a Certified Nursing Assistant in a nursing home is extremely important because CNAs provide the majority of hands-on, daily care that residents depend on. They assist with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, helping residents maintain comfort, dignity, and as much independence as possible. This direct care plays a key role in preserving both physical health and emotional well-being. CNAs are often the primary point of contact for residents, which allows them to build strong, trusting relationships. Because of this close interaction, they are usually the first to notice changes in a resident's condition, such as shifts in mood, appetite, or physical health.
