Job Description

The Nursing Assistant in Training provides supervised resident care in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulatory standards. This role serves as a preparatory step toward certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies. Tuition Reimbursement Student Loan Reimbursement Responsibilities:
Provide direct resident care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding. Measure and record vital signs, weight, percentage of meal consumed intake/output as directed. Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and position using proper body mechanics and lift equipment as applicable. Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff. Support residents' independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort. Maintain accurate and timely documentation and in accordance with facility procedures. Maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Provides postmortem care. Make routine rounds on each assigned resident every two hours. Contributes to the residents' assessment (MDS/CAA's) and the plan of care. Provides nursing rehabilitation/restorative nursing services Education and/or
Experience:
High School Graduate/GED Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have graduated from a state approved nursing assistant training program and must pass a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.
