Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description Under the direction of the Nurse Supervisor, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing direct care and support to clients in a post-acute neurological rehabilitation setting. Duties include assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), Home Exercise Programs (HEPs), therapeutic activities, community outings, and other tasks that promote independence and help clients achieve the goals outlined in their individualized plan of care. Additional responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation and feeding, monitoring weights, performing transfers using appropriate equipment and techniques, housekeeping and kitchen duties, completing accurate and timely documentation, implementing behavioral and therapeutic programs as trained, ensuring clients receive the appropriate level of supervision, assisting clients in following their daily routines, transporting clients to appointments and community outings, attending required in-service training, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a physically demanding position that requires employees to be on their feet for the majority of each shift. Candidates must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and move clients and equipment, perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking, and respond quickly to client needs in a fast-paced environment. The ability to manage a busy workload, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of client care while working efficiently throughout the shift is essential.
