Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks like catheter care, wound care, or medication administration under supervision. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality at all times during documentation and communication. Use safe lifting practices with equipment such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to transfer patients safely and prevent injury. Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff, including symptoms of infection or distress. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, or home care environments. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (CPR). Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills for caregiving and patient service roles; compassionate approach essential. Prior experience in settings such as hospitals (ICU, trauma centers), long-term care facilities, hospice or palliative care is highly valued.
