Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor and record vital signs—such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration—accurately documenting findings in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide basic medical assistance including medication administration under supervision, catheter care, wound care, and aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care, memory care, or individuals with developmental disabilities by implementing tailored care plans that promote safety and well-being. Assist nursing staff in preparing patients for procedures in various units including ICU, emergency medicine, surgical units, or outpatient clinics; ensure smooth patient transfers using appropriate methods. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, practicing safe lifting practices during patient handling, and managing infectious disease precautions diligently. Participate in team communication by effectively reporting patient status changes, assisting with medical documentation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Experience Previous experience working as a CNA or in a healthcare setting is highly preferred; familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR/Epic/Cerner/eClinicalWorks) is advantageous. Demonstrated competence in providing senior care, long-term care facility experience, or working within hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or teaching hospitals enhances your ability to deliver exceptional patient service. Experience with specialized care areas including

ICU, PICU

(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), hospice care, or sub-acute settings is beneficial. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy fundamentals supports accurate vital sign measurement and understanding of patient conditions. Proficiency in caregiving techniques such as the use of Hoyer lifts, safe manual handling practices, CPR certification (Basic Life Support), and infection control measures ensures safe and effective patient assistance. Strong communication skills are essential for working with diverse populations—including pediatrics and geriatrics—and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
