CNA - HOME CARE JOB DESCRIPTION

Statement of Responsibility:

An In-Home NA Aide, Companion, Sitter and Respite NA aide is a person who under supervision, supports and maintains a safe clean environment for the patient.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience 18 years of age or older Sufficient education and language, ability to speak, read, understand written orders,and to write basic reports. Must have an active CNA license

Specific:

Ability to communicate information concerning a patient's condition clearly. Functions independently with minimal supervision. Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, inclusive of sitting, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, or moving objects. Ability to relate to and work with various personality styles, illness, disability, and elderly. Read, write, and communicate in English.

Accountability:

Registered Nurse, Staffing Coordinator/Administrative Assistant, and Client Service Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties should be performed in compliance with all office policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations. Provide light housekeeping tasks such as preparation of meals, laundering patient's personal garments. No transporting of patients is allowed, but errands can be ran for patients once a week. Maintain a chronological written record of service. Timesheets range in periods of 1 week and are due every other Monday. They MUST be turned in on time to ensure that you are paid in a timely manner, and anytime that you are not able to do so the office should be notified in advance. Report any unusual incidents or changes in the patient's behavior to the appropriate supervisor. Provide companionship for the patient; do not take advantage of patient's by removing any belongings or taking items of kindness from the patient or patient's home. Utilize universal precautions and infection control techniques as necessary. The In Home Aide may perform assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and any other hands on care deemed necessary by the RN.
