Job Description
Individuals appointed to the position are capable of performing the function of either a unit secretary or patient care assistant and are, therefore, responsible for both the clerical and patient care duties within a nursing unit. For any assigned shift, a Clerk Aide may carry out the responsibilities of one, the other or both job responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required upon conclusion of Critical Care orientation. Recent clinical experience in an acute care setting is desirable. Must possess basic typing ability. Familiarity with computer systems required.Typical Working Conditions:
Some exposure to communicable diseases or toxic substances, ionizing radiation, therapeutic preparations and other conditions common to a healthcare environment.Typical Physical Demands:
Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts, carries and pushes items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful condition or working irregular hours.Salary:
$20.13-$22.88/ hour plus shift differentials: $1.80-$1.90 and weekend: $0.75.Benefits
