About the Role We're looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our clinical team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Under the supervision of a physician, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, the RNFA performs a variety of perioperative patient management in collaboration with other health care providers. These include assisting phase until conclusion of the operation and post-operative collaborative patient care management.
What You'll Do Safety:
Adheres to policies and procedures Provides constant observation Adheres to infection control, safety, fire and disaster policies and procedures.
Patient Care:
Provides care within the job duties and responsibilities. Incorporates appropriate age assessment skills that are age specific in all interventions and delivery of care. Maintain aseptic technique during procedures. Demonstrates appropriate and thorough communication with all disciplines to facilitate/support positive patient outcomes. Performs completely and consistently in direct patient care including proposed procedure, development of plan of care, and intraoperative technique.
Equipment Operation:
Prepare Operating rooms for surgery, assess patients during surgery and make necessary interventions. Customer Service. Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and sensitivity when interacting with patients, visitors, and co-workers. Respects patient privacy, maintains confidentiality and displays non-judgmental behavior. Participates in and utilizes appropriate intra- and inter-departmental communication systems. Verbal communication is clear, concise, and relevant. Maintains open lines of communication with peers and other members of the health care team. Communicates patient/family needs to the appropriate personnel.
Clerical:
Maintain accurate records and document patient care when appropriate.
Ownership:
Accepts constructive feedback from co-workers and management and responds by changing behavior or performance if appropriate. Supports and accepts hospital policies, decisions, and changes. Consistently evaluates performance through self-evaluation and seeks feedback from all disciplines, recognizes when changes in practice need to be fostered to ultimately improve patient outcomes. Completes all mandatory hospital and unit-based competencies/in-services within required times frames. Has successfully achieved previous years developmental and performance goals. Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence Perform clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community What You Bring Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Graduate of an accredited RNFA program. Minimum of 2 years' experience as registered nurse in an acute care setting. Excellent clinical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Strong commitment to patient-centered care. Bachelor's degree in nursing. Registered Nurse License (in good standing).
