SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibit customer service skills that enhance the lives of the residents and their psychosocial wellbeing Promote resident dignity, privacy, and rights at all times Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility Provide safe transfers and ambulation using proper techniques and equipment Reposition residents as needed to maintain comfort and prevent skin breakdown Observe and report changes in residents' physical condition, behavior, or mood to licensed nursing staff Measure and record vital signs as assigned Follow infection control procedures, including hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for residents and staff Follow facility safety policies to prevent accidents and injuries Accurately document care provided according to facility policy Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and accidents according to facility policy. Participate in emergency drills and respond appropriately during emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
CNA Coursework with active CNA licensure Dementia experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION
CNA certification BLS certification (CPR/First Aid)
EXPERIENCE
At least one year of experience in acute care, home health care, or long-term care. Previous dementia experience or education.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ability to multi-task. Able to communicate well with the senior population especially with dementia. Excellent communication skills with team mates. Demonstrates a high level of patience with the senior population.
