Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Support medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, and medication administration under supervision, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive medical documentation. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans in diverse environments like ICU, emergency medicine, or long-term care facilities. Use patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts safely and efficiently to prevent injury during mobility assistance. Engage with patients experiencing dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques to enhance their comfort and well-being. Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients or in senior care settings, including nursing homes or assisted living communities. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (CPR) procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling practices while maintaining patient safety. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays in home or community care environments. Strong caregiver communication skills to effectively support patients' emotional needs and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
