The Nursery Attendant should be a consistent person in the nursery to provide a stable, nurturing, and spiritual environment for the children. This person must have prior childcare experience with children from ages 0-3 years. A person needs to be flexible for changing chemistry depending on what ages and number of children are in the nursery on a given week. A. Expectations and Requirements for the Nursery Attendant 1. Providing consistent care in nursery 30 minutes before and after learning community and worship on Sunday mornings. a. Provide consistent care during monthly church meetings, ministry gatherings, and potentially other church events. 2. Nursery applicants will have to complete and pass a background check that is provided by the church. 3. If the Nursery Attendant cannot be present at a scheduled event or service it is expected that the Nursery Attendant schedule a substitute and inform the Coordinator of Spiritual Formation. 4. Nursery Attendant is to have an up to date first aid & infant/child CPR certification. 5. Nursery Attendant will be responsible for keeping toys and surfaces in the nursery room sanitized on a consistent basis. B. Sunday Morning Learning Community Expectations 1. Follow check-in and check-out procedures for releasing children. 2. Keep attendance of children present on Sunday mornings. 3. Have new families fill out a registration and medical release form. 4. Guide and utilize nursery volunteers on Sunday mornings. 5. Use elements of the learning community curriculum providing intentional faith formation for those in the nursery (story time, music, and songs with movements, and art activities.) 6. Use inclusive language for God and humankind. 7. Provide a consistent discipline policy. Redirect child to positive activity. Offer appropriate choices wherever possible. C.
Compensation for the above duties:
1. The hourly wage is minimum wage (currently $16.30). 2. Monthly average of 10 hours per month. (Hours may vary due to ministry meetings and special church events.)
