Responsibilities Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient condition, and communicate findings promptly to nursing staff. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Assist with specialized care needs including Alzheimer's/dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health support. Use proper infection control techniques and aseptic procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Transfer patients safely using manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods suited for various mobility levels. Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards. Qualifications Valid CNA certification recognized by state licensing boards. Experience working with geriatric patients in long-term care facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for medical records management. Knowledge of vital signs measurement, anatomy, physiology, and basic medical terminology. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during patient transfers. Strong communication skills for effective caregiver-patient interaction and team collaboration. Basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications such as CPR or phlebotomy are advantageous.
