Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Manage complex clinical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with developmental disabilities, and those in hospice or palliative care. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing, diagnostic imaging (e.g., sonography), and infection control protocols. Document all patient interactions meticulously within EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for seamless medical records management. Provide patient education on health coaching topics including chronic disease management, medication administration, nutrition, and discharge planning. Qualifications Valid RN license in good standing with current state requirements. Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; hospital medicine experience preferred. Familiarity with advanced clinical procedures including cardiac catheterization, trauma medicine, dialysis support, ostomy care, and infectious disease care. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) along with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate documentation. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in specialized settings such as memory or dementia care is highly valued. Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments like emergency rooms or urgent care clinics while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
