Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) working the 6AM to 6PM shift! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients across various settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals needing long-term, acute, or post-acute care. You will work closely with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment that values your skills and dedication. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support patient transfer methods utilizing safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts to ensure safety for both patients and staff. Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nurses while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly, including symptoms related to infectious diseases or behavioral health concerns such as dementia or Alzheimer's care. Maintain a clean, safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in compliance with hospital or long-term care facility standards. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans. Experience Prior experience working with geriatric patients in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS) certification required. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) such as Epic or Cerner enhances your ability to document accurately and efficiently. Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods using manual handling techniques or specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts is desirable. Previous roles involving hospice care, ICU experience, or trauma center environments will be considered valuable assets. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities ensure compassionate patient interactions across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
