Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Graveyard Caregiver/CNA to provide high-quality care during overnight shifts. This role involves supporting residents with their daily needs, ensuring their safety, and maintaining a comfortable environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, memory care, and working with individuals with disabilities, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working in a supportive team environment. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and observe residents' health status, noting any changes or concerns for appropriate action Administer medications and perform medication reminders in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations Document resident information accurately and maintain detailed care records Provide meal preparation and feeding assistance as needed, ensuring nutritional needs are met Operate patient lifting equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a hygienic living environment Follow safety protocols including first aid procedures and CPR when necessary Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care strategies Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and privacy standards Requirements Valid CNA certification or relevant caregiving experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration Ability to work overnight shifts (graveyard hours) reliably and responsibly Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements Experience in hospice care, home health, long-term care, or social work is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and operate patient transfer equipment safely Excellent communication skills and compassionate attitude towards residents CPR certification and first aid training required or willingness to obtain upon hire This role is vital in providing compassionate overnight care that promotes safety, dignity, and well-being for our residents.
