Shift:
(6am-2pm OR 2pm-10pm) Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Weekend CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to provide vital support during weekends, ensuring our residents and patients receive exceptional care in a dynamic environment. As a Weekend CNA, you will be an essential part of a collaborative team committed to promoting health, safety, and comfort for individuals across various care settings. Duties Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, maintaining detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while respecting patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatments and safety protocols. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support. Assist with patient transfers using appropriate patient transfer methods, ensuring safety during movement within the facility or to external appointments. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care or wound management to prevent infection. Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver comprehensive medical-surgical, post-acute, or long-term care tailored to each patient's needs. Skills Valid CNA certification with current state licensure; experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals, or assisted living environments highly preferred. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and patient records management. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to senior care, pediatrics, ICU, trauma centers, or emergency medicine. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs; familiarity with dementia and memory care is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting practices; physical stamina for manual handling tasks is essential. Excellent caregiver communication skills to effectively coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and provide compassionate patient service. Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques critical for maintaining a safe environment in acute or outpatient settings.
