Job Description

ABOVE Home Health is seeking an experienced, compassionate Lead Caregiver (CNA) to support our clients while assisting with administrative coordination and participating in client admissions. This role is designed for a CNA who enjoys leadership and learning the operational side of home care—while still spending the majority of their time providing hands-on client care. Position Overview The Lead Caregiver provides direct client care and supports agency operations by learning and attending client admissions, assisting with care coordination and scheduling, and serving as a field support resource. This is not an office-only role —client care remains the primary responsibility.
Required Schedule:
Tuesday•Saturday 8am to 5pm. Primary Responsibilities Provide high-quality, hands-on care to assigned clients Attend and learn client admissions alongside supervisors or care coordinators Support the admission process by observing, assisting with documentation, and reinforcing care plans Serve as a lead support resource for caregivers in the field, Communicate client condition changes or care concerns to supervisors promptly Complete documentation accurately and on time Participate in care plan updates and client follow-ups Maintain professionalism, safety, and client dignity at all times Act as a liaison between caregivers and office staff Assist with onboarding and mentoring new caregivers Support quality assurance checks and follow-up visits Help identify caregiver training or support needs Provide field feedback to leadership to improve care delivery On call rotation Qualifications Active Washington State CNA certification (required)
Required:
3-5 years of professional caregiving experience (in-home preferred) Strong clinical judgment and reliability Interest in learning admissions, care coordination, and agency operations Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driving abstract Proof of valid Auto Insurance Ability to travel between client homes during the workday Smartphone proficiency for scheduling, documentation, and communication Current CPR and Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain) Flexibility to work as needed outside of posted schedule, and willingness to commute around King, Lewis, Mason, Thurston, Pierce Counties. Minimum of 1 week training in Olympia.
