Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or behavioral health conditions by implementing tailored memory care strategies. Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and aseptic techniques to ensure safety and infection control standards are met. Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in acute care environments such as ICU, trauma centers, or pediatric units to support patient transfer methods and emergency response protocols. Experience Prior experience working as a CNA or in similar caregiving roles within long-term care facilities, hospitals, or outpatient clinics is highly valued. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to patient care across diverse specialties including geriatrics, pediatrics, surgical units, or behavioral health. Experience operating medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other patient transfer devices while adhering to safe lifting practices. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Meditech for accurate medical documentation and record management. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications like Phlebotomy or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) training are advantageous. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays while maintaining compassion and professionalism.
