Wellness Director-Assisted Living
Job Description
Colonial Assisted Living is seeking an experienced and compassionate Wellness Director to oversee all resident care services and clinical operations within our assisted living community. The Wellness Director is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with assisted living experience who can effectively manage nursing and caregiving staff while fostering a culture of compassion, dignity, and resident-centered care. Responsibilities Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and, when necessary, discipline or terminate caregiving and nursing staff. Direct, oversee, and evaluate all resident care services and caregiving personnel. Ensure compliance with all state, local, and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Develop staffing plans and manage scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and quality care. Coordinate resident admissions, assessments, service plans, and ongoing care needs. Review and maintain resident records, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. Oversee and manage Florida Form 1823 assessments and related documentation. Monitor resident wellness and collaborate with healthcare providers, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Identify and resolve care-related concerns, incidents, and operational challenges. Conduct staff training, competency evaluations, and ongoing education programs. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. Collaborate with department leaders to ensure seamless resident services and community operations. Prepare reports and communicate regularly with executive leadership regarding resident care and department performance. Qualifications Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Current CPR certification. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience in Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, or a related healthcare setting. Thorough knowledge of Florida Assisted Living Facility regulations and resident care requirements. Experience completing and managing Florida Form 1823 assessments and related documentation. Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing staff. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities. Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
