Director of Nursing Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse to provide clinical leadership and support to our nursing team. The Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, supporting staff, and maintaining compliance with clinical, regulatory, and facility standards. The ideal candidate is a confident clinical leader who demonstrates sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and exceptional care. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care and clinical oversight to all residents. Coordinate and supervise nursing staff during assigned shifts. Assign duties and patient care responsibilities based on staffing and patient needs. Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status. Ensure medications, treatments, assessments, and documentation are completed accurately and timely. Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Provide guidance, support, and clinical direction to nursing staff. Address patient care concerns and escalate issues appropriately. Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and changes in level of care. Promote adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement standards. Monitor staffing needs and assist with shift coverage and workflow management. Participate in staff education, performance improvement, and quality initiatives. Complete required documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and facility policies. Serve as a clinical resource and positive role model for the nursing team. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred. Five years of professional nursing experience preferred. Previous charge nurse, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred. Current BLS certification required. Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and standard nursing documentation.
