Job Description

Role Overview:
The RN Clinical Charge Nurse oversees daily unit operations, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care through clinical expertise, team leadership, and collaboration. They manage staffing, patient assignments, and unit flow, while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and fostering a patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities, including staff scheduling and resource management. Perform patient rounds, evaluate care quality, and implement corrective actions when needed. Partner with interdisciplinary teams, communicate effectively, and promote teamwork. Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and outcomes. Mentor and serve as a preceptor for staff and students, supporting professional development. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and data collection. Manage equipment, resources, and patient flow, including emergency and surgical settings.
Qualifications and Skills:
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; RN license (single or multi-state). Certification in Basic Life Support required. Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred, especially in charge or leadership roles. Strong critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and utilize technology proficiently. Knowledge of clinical standards, safety protocols, and research principles.
Additional Requirements:
Certified in area of specialty preferred. Upholds nursing ethics, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
