Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nursing Supervisor to oversee nursing operations during the 3-11pm shift. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. As a key member of our management team, you will coordinate nursing activities, supervise staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and promote a positive environment focused on resident well-being. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during the evening shift to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to policies. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation accuracy in accordance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Manage staffing schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and supervise team management activities to optimize workflow. Ensure compliance with nursing policies, infection control protocols, and long-term care regulations across all shift operations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address residents' medical needs including dementia care, geriatrics, and behavioral health. Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, tube feeding management, and other clinical interventions requiring advanced physiology knowledge. Facilitate communication between staff members and management while maintaining a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes. Experience Proven supervisory experience in a healthcare setting with demonstrated leadership in managing nursing teams. Extensive clinical background in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; experience in medical-surgical units or hospital medicine is highly valued. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth; experience working with electronic health records (EHR systems). Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and utilization review processes. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; familiarity with long-term care regulations and dementia or memory care is preferred. Background in emergency medicine or acute care settings including ventilator management and airway management techniques. Demonstrated ability to manage care facility teams effectively while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare laws.
