LPN/RN Charge Nurse
Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse, working Monday through Friday from 2 PM to 10 PM. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee daily patient care operations, coordinate nursing staff activities, and ensure the delivery of exceptional clinical services. Your expertise will foster a compassionate environment focused on quality, safety, and patient-centered care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team while utilizing your diverse nursing skills across various specialties. Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership by supervising nursing staff and ensuring adherence to care protocols and standards. Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs, and medical documentation with precision and attention to detail. Oversee medication administration, IV infusions, wound suturing, and aseptic techniques to maintain high safety standards. Manage complex patient cases including acute pain management, trauma care, and critical care situations such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center scenarios. Facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and seamless information flow. Conduct triage assessments and prioritize patient needs in urgent or emergency situations. Support specialized care areas including memory care, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, geriatrics, and long-term care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Requirements Valid LPN or RN license in good standing with current state certification. Proven experience working in diverse settings such as hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU, or trauma centers. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and laboratory procedures. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Experience with complex procedures such as catheterization, dialysis management, ventilator support, ostomy care, and NG tube feeding. Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with trauma medicine and Level I/II trauma center protocols highly valued. Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
