Job Description

Mercy is seeking a Clinical Supervisor - Registered Nurse for our Main Operating Room. This role oversees daily OR operations, leading a team of perioperative RNs and support staff to deliver safe, high-quality surgical care. The Clinical Supervisor coordinates schedules, resources, and patient flow, supports surgeons and anesthesia teams, and ensures strict adherence to infection prevention and regulatory standards. You will mentor staff, support onboarding and education, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and foster a collaborative culture aligned with Mercy's mission of compassionate, innovative patient care. Responsibilities Supervise and support main OR nursing and support staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical care. Coordinate daily OR schedules, staffing, and room assignments to optimize patient flow and resource use. Oversee adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention, and regulatory/accreditation standards. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to resolve issues and enhance outcomes. Mentor, coach, and evaluate staff; support orientation, education, and ongoing competency development. Monitor quality, safety, and patient experience metrics; lead or participate in performance improvement initiatives. Ensure accurate perioperative documentation and effective use of the EHR. Promote a culture of compassion, teamwork, and respect aligned with Mercy's mission and values.
